Bill Eckert is a financial educator, speaker, and advisor in Kansas City. Bill has developed a specialty in teaching retirees and those about to retire how to help protect their principal and help ensure that their money lasts. Bill has directly assisted many investors to avoid the mistakes made by many pre and post retirees. Bill’s counsel has helped them maximize their incomes, reduce their taxes, and provide for their children and grandchildren. Bill has also shown people how they can truly make a philanthropic impact in the community today and in the future.
Bill is a graduate of the University of Kansas where he studied business and accounting. He has used his financial education and resources to benefit not only Kansas City families but the Kansas City non-profit community as well. Bill is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy which provides him an in-depth knowledge of the entire philanthropic planning process, including, but not limited to, estate and trust documents, taxation, accounting, insurance, and investments tools to help clients articulate and advance their highest aspirations for self, family, and society. This is a graduate level program offered at the American College and is part of a Master’s of Science in Financial Services degree.
Professionally, Bill is a member of Advisors in Philanthropy, Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, and a current board member for the Mid-America Planning Giving Council. He was awarded the 2013 International “Donor Motivation Program” Professional of the Year “Creating a Legacy for Future Generations.”* and was named The Face of Philanthropic Estate Planning by Kansas City's 435 Magazine.
Bill is part of an international philanthropic organization called “The Donor Motivation Program.” Since 1995, “The Donor Motivation Program” has helped hundreds of America’s finest non-profit organizations and more than 15,000 donors come together in the areas of annual giving, major giving, growth campaigns, and planned giving. Engaged in new and exciting ways, donors want to learn more about how philanthropy is a triple-win for themselves, their family, and the charity.
Lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, and philanthropic professionals have all benefited from Bill’s instruction. By utilizing the strategies revealed in his presentations, entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees have been able to save and redirect to philanthropic organizations many of their “social capital”, also known as taxes.
Bill lives with his wife, Shanthi, who volunteers with many charities. Bill and Shanthi have four children who live in Kansas City.
